A delicious, antioxidant-rich twist on a classic chocolate chip cookie.

When you think of chocolate chip cookies, “healthy” usually isn’t the first word that comes to mind. But with Alias Matcha, you can transform this comfort-food favorite into a nourishing treat that gives you sustained energy, antioxidants, and that signature matcha calm focus.

In this recipe, we’ll use Alias Ceremonial Grade Matcha blended with either dark or milk chocolate chips (your choice), almond flour for added nutrition, and just the right amount of sweetness. The result? A chewy, soft cookie that balances indulgence with wellness.

Why Add Matcha to Cookies?

Matcha isn’t just for lattes. By baking with matcha powder, you get both flavor and health benefits:

- Clean Energy, No Crash – Unlike coffee, matcha’s caffeine works in harmony with L-theanine to provide calm, sustained energy.

- Antioxidant Powerhouse – Matcha is one of the richest sources of catechins (EGCG), which help fight oxidative stress.

- Boosts Mood & Focus – L-theanine increases alpha brain waves, promoting relaxation without drowsiness.

- Metabolism Support – Studies suggest matcha may help increase calorie burn during exercise and daily activity.

Adding it into cookies gives you a little functional boost in every bite.

🥣 Ingredients

⚪️ 1 ½ cups almond flour (or regular flour if preferred)

⚪️ 2 tbsp Alias Ceremonial Matcha

⚪️ ½ tsp baking soda

⚪️ ¼ tsp salt

⚪️ ¼ cup coconut oil or unsalted butter, melted

⚪️ ⅓ cup coconut sugar (or brown sugar for richer flavor)

⚪️ 1 large egg (or flax egg for vegan)

⚪️ 1 tsp vanilla extract

⚪️ ½ cup dark or milk chocolate chips (choose at least 70% cocoa for extra antioxidants if going dark)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Preheat & Prep
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Mix Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together almond flour, matcha, baking soda, and salt until evenly combined.

3. Mix Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, whisk the melted coconut oil (or butter), coconut sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth.

4. Combine & Fold
Slowly stir the dry mixture into the wet mixture until a soft dough forms. Fold in the chocolate chips.

5. Scoop & Shape
Use a spoon or cookie scoop to portion dough balls onto the baking sheet. Flatten slightly with your palm.

6. Bake
Bake for 9–11 minutes or until edges are lightly golden. The centers should still look soft — they’ll firm up as they cool.

7. Cool & Enjoy
Let cookies rest on the sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Serve warm with a cup of matcha!
